From your questions, I think you're asking whether "north" is the same direction each time you turn. It is. North is always north. It's a compass direction, not something that's relative to where you are facing. That's why the maze uses compass directions, with north at the top, instead of saying "left" and "right". If you don't know the four points of a compass, I'm not sure how else I can help you there.

So, to put it in pictures, if you are standing at the X, and it says "the path goes north and then turns east", it is shaped like this.
