Kicking myself in FQ1

Aaaargh I finally found something new (a motorboat) but chose to bathe in the river and the current carried me away. What I need to know is what direction to go in from the sphinx's location to get back to the boat.

Sack
Branch
Shovel
Bow
Ticket
Silver Coin
Silver Key
Hammer
Arrow
Sunstone
Rope
Gold Key
Nails
Club

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Good luck to all
