24 (season 2)

[The following takes place between one hour and another. Events are filmed in real time.]

JACK BAUER: [speaking on cell phone] Kim, there's a nuclear bomb about to go off. You have to get out of Los Angeles.

KIM BAUER: [speaking on cell phone] I think the minor domestic disturbance I'm involved in is more important than your nuclear bomb. I'm staying. [hangs up the phone]

JACK BAUER: KIM? KIM? Great.

[twelve minutes past the hour.]

[SOMEONE explains why someone else from THE FIRST SEASON isn't on the show THIS SEASON.]

[sixteen minutes past the hour.]

PRESIDENT PALMER: I am the President. Don't undermine my authority.

HEAD OF THE NSA: Okay. [He undermines the President's authority.]

FEMALE PRESIDENTIAL AIDE: Wait a minute -- let's see who you really are. [She rips the RUBBER MASK off of the HEAD OF THE NSA.] It's just as I thought! You're President Palmer's evil ex-wife from the first season of 24!

SHARI PALMER: [cackles]

[thirty-two minutes past the hour.]

KIM BAUER: Everything will be okay if I just go to the police for help. [She doesn't.]

[thirty-six minutes past the hour.]

PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR: [speaking on cell phone] Blonde #4, we just found out your sister, Blonde #3, is going to marry a terrorist in just about an hour. Don't tell anyone else.

BLONDE #3: Blonde #4 who is my sister, who was that on the phone?

BLONDE #4: NOBODY! I MEAN NO ONE! DEFINATELY NOT A PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR WHO JUST FOUND OUT YOU'RE MARRYING A TERRORIST TODAY! AFLACK!

[Blonde #3 backs away SLOWLY.]

[forty-eight minutes past the hour.]

TONY ALMEDIA: I'll bet we could have caught the terrorists by now, if only we weren't so incompetent. [Accidentally sets himself on fire.]

[fifty-six minutes past the hour]

[Something SUSPENSEFUL happens just in time for this hour's closing credits, but it isn't as suspenseful as LAST SEASON.]
