I would say make a map, but I wasn't able to do that. Wander around some more -- do some digging, go for a swim, lend a hand where necessary (if you haven't done these things already).

It might help to remember that there are four colors of sandstone -- and if it's white on the higher levels, what might change elsewhere, where the light is less? Verna's passcard is somewhere around there. You should be able to figure out what you need to do when you get around that area.

If you're trying to get the tube, maybe some insect repellent would help. I don't know your inventory, so I don't know if you have any -- or a reasonable substitute.

The sandstone caverns themselves aren't all that complex. There are certain things to look for, and then what I have done is figure out my way back, writing down the directions as I go, and then I just reverse everything (i.e. turn SE into NW).
