Yeah, you got it. I was thinking of "omega" in a slightly different, more precise mathematical sense, but it's similar to the common "last" or "end" definition.
But...heh, you still have to find the secret area now, don't you? I wonder if it will really help that much. A while ago Monkeyman said it is probably not that great of a hint if you've already been searching for a while.

No, even if you were wrong, it would have been a great guess. I think most people were sure that it had something to do with gems or sages.
(Incidentally, if you did use a second "the" in the game's title, which you don't, you could just tack that "the" into the anagram as well.)
