Okay. . .I give up. I've been looking everywhere at anything I can think of that could be remotely related to the following clue, and some things that I don't think could possibly be related.

Of monsters there are many,
But the first is the toughie.
Conk him out; then cross the bridge.
To make this rhyme, I'll say "puffy."

Even the tiniest hint would be appreciated.
