If it's any comfort to you, my first thought when I got to the end of your post was "Oh, Pliffilif changed his screen name and I didn't realise, huh, how about that." My second was to wonder what the thing was which was on your mind. Maybe I'm a bit slow because it's 2 a.m. *here*, but it took me a long time to connect the two thoughts. Anyway, it certainly didn't occur to me to be upset or consider it a deception.

My reaction is mostly just curiosity about why you changed without telling us, and concern that there might have been some problem which prompted you to do that, which we didn't realise at the time. It's nice to know you're still around and have been all this time, and please go on using whichever name you want to.
