Well, I'm in sort of a rambling mood, so I thought I'd point out something very obvious: this has to be the most diverse message board in all of the internet. Let's consider what threads are currently on the top page:

We have discussion on the physics behind light; computer geek stories; voting for what book Sam should read; a suggestion for some weird tales; "what if feet had taste buds?"; debate over the difference between opera, low opera, and opperettas (the last term is spelled horribly wrong); some talk on how this site should change it's login setup; and a bit on the Monica Lewinsky banner ad (which will be replaced by this message).

Tell me, where else can you possibly find such a wide range of topics all on the same page? Even stranger, all the discussion on here has been literate and generally intelligent. I've been reading this board since the day it started, and yet I really don't know how or why it's the way it is. Anyway, this is really a pointless post. But you warned at the beginning, so leave Robert Denby alone! I mean leave me alone!
