When good advertising goes bad ...

Time and again, the Rinkforum has been burdened by questions about why certain things are strangely acceptable to ridicule, regardless of their merit. The Backstreet Boys will never be taken seriously by most of us.

But now, for once, i find myself on the side annoyed at the poker of fun. A couple fast food companies in the U.S. who sell chicken have chosen to promote their new products with commercials that run the idea that "nobody knows where on the chicken the 'nugget' comes from. OK, funny. Yeah.

Problem is the new products being advertised: chicken (breast) strips and "popcorn" chicken. Did the thought not occur to ANYone developing these ads that neither the "strip" nor "popcorn" is any recognizable part of the chicken, either?

Next time you're bored at a "nugget" restaurant, you might find yourself reading the box, which will tell you that nuggets are breast meat. My only question is whether strips and nuggets could come from the same bird.
