It doesn't rain 'gators in Tennessee. Only in southern Georgia and Florida.
I knew a guy in Florida, who wrecked his new car when he hit a 'gator in the road during a rain storm. (It was bad for the 'gator, too.) He got the car fixed and a week later, while driving in fog, he hit a turkey buzzard and knocked out the windshield. The buzzard was dining on a dead 'gator in the road. Not the same 'gator. Anyway the new car was a 1950 Mercury. This is an old story.
