You're right about there being operetta, and about G&S doing operettas. But I wasn't thinking of
operettas, and I wasn't thinking of G&S.

I was thinking of light opera, like _Die Fledermaus_, and _La Cerentola_, and ... wossname ... that
one where the conman comes into town and starts selling people love potions.

As Terry Pratchett once wrote, there are two types of opera: high opera, which has lots of blood in
it, and light opera, "which is basically people singing 'Beer! Beer! Beer! We like to drink lots of beer!'"
