I had the same problem. I beat Murkon (Leviathan) and got the diadem (amulet half), and still didn't win the game. There's actually a bug: after you do that, you have to go to level ten, defeat Murkon (Murkon) and get the King's Diadem (King's Diadem) and then it will work.

But, really, why this game can't be written so that it knows when people win is beyond me.
