In my first dive into the eastern pool on Level 9, I was rewarded with an Assassin's Robe, a glorious item if there ever was one. However, it took me another fifteen or so visits to that pool to find another one. I desperately want another, as my trio of Assassins will be a unstoppable melee machine at that point. > > And to weigh in on the class-changing debate that has been going on over the last few days, is there a compelling reason to leave a character as a Druid once they have learned all spells and accumulated enough spell points? All three of my druids have 400+ SP and all spells, and I sincerely hope that would be enough to see me through to Murkon. I have already changed one Druid into a Knight, in order to jack up his HP, and to give me a backup melee fighter in case one my elite Assassins is paralyzed during a battle. I'm debating whether I should do the same for my other two Druids. > > Sorry, I've rambled on. Enough for now. >
I think 400 SP should be enough for anyone, but sometimes I feel that more would still be nice. On the other hand, having a backup Assassin would be wonderful, as soon as he got enough speed to do more damage than THROTTLE or SHRAPNEL. I took a more modest approach with my three main spellcasters, just giving them Staffs of Healing to walk around with, even though they needed long range weapons to do any damage at all. Actually, I don't think the class of your back three characters is of much significance unless they have to be called upon to replace the victim of paralysis.
Remember, the more SP you have the more often you can cast QUAKE or CHAOS and not have to worry aboot running out of healing magic.
