Oh, I *so* know what that's like. I found broccoli to be the most disgusting thing known to humanity, throughout my entire childhood and teenage years. I couldn't *believe* anybody could eat it and like it.

Then I left home.

Then I learned that *other* people steam broccoli for a couple of minutes so it's bright green and crunchy, instead of boiling it in a vat of water for freaking half an hour and reducing it to a greyish-green limp tasteless object which looks like wet snot. Like my mother did, and still does. I love my mother, but have come to realise that this doesn't mean I have to love her cooking style. ;-)

Raw vegetables are better for you than cooked, too. Except for things like potatoes, of course, which are poisonous when raw.
