I've heard before that protection errors pop up when Windows realises it's running a program that Microsoft hasn't approved. How Quicktime ever runs, I'll never know, but if you're hitting the Blue Screen of Death that often it may well be a hardware error. My computer used to crash regularly until I twigged it was the CD drive that was causing the conflict. Anyway, the first thing I'd do is replace Netscape with IE, Opera or something like that (it could be that Netscape's triggering the error), and then if it still happens, take your machine in for someone to look at. Having read lots of Computer Stupidities recently, I'd advise against use of the tech support lines...
