Looking Glass Productions, who I believe made the Thief series, folded sometime last year or the year before. They were working on Thief III as well as their other well-known line of Flight Unlimited games, and said that unless they all met up again somewhere else, both series were to be considered dead and buried. Although Eidos were threatening to give it to someone else, last I heard the LG team had managed to throw a major spanner in the works.
