Then go to the South fortress and give that object to the guardian at the front on the castle. Explore around that castle. You will get at least 2 things. One of them will help you get into the North castle through a very hot place. Don't worry about the boat anymore. Once it's gone, it means that you don't need it. The rabbit's only purpose is the cat so don't worry about him. And don't worry about the meadow or boxes, they aren't used at all. Hope that helps you out.

With the rabbit, you just have to feed him a carrot. Then go back to the cat. There is one option (I can't think of it right now) that you have to click a few times before he will come and help you out. Which gate are you talking about? The one to the south or north fortress? I'll take that it is the north fortress. You can only open that one from the inside. But you'll be able to get into there after you've gotten something from the south fortress after you've gotten past the cat. Hope that helps you out.
