It went something like this. I was talking with someone about how spoons can be deadly...

Me: ...Yeah, and there could be poison in the spoon.
Friend: Right, bu- Wait a minute... IN the spoon!?
Me: Yes, in the spoon.
Friend: Don't you mean ON the spoon?
Me: No.
Friend: But that doesn't make any sense!
Me: Sure it does, spoons are like tiny bowls on sticks. You don't say something is on a bowl, you say it's in a bowl.
Friend: IN a bowl!?
Me: Yes!
Friend: No way!
Me: (Sees another friend)
Me: Hey, if you have a spoonful of something, is it in the spoon or on the spoon?
Friend 2: In the spoon!
Friend: No! It's on the spoon!

Etc.
