I disagree.

There is nothing in the world better than knowing in advance that something nice is going to happen (involving someone you care about).

Because then you not only get to experience the nice thing when it happens, you also get days/weeks/months of joyous anticipation and reason to live!
It's like a *double* present that way.

And plus you at least have half a chance of wearing the right shoes when it happens.
