One of my pet peeves is fortunes that AREN'T FORTUNES. I can't think of a real example, but things like "You have great determination to see things through." That's an observation of personality, not a prediction of the future.
Anyway, I've gotten two really really good fortune cookies. One was "Your life should be recorded for *prosperity*" (emphasis mine) which I put in Things People Said afterward.
The other was interesting for a different reason -- its incredible appropriateness. At a former job, I had a big software project due, and I was cutting it close because I had gutted the whole internal architecture of the thing (I took over the project when this other guy left and only then discovered the inherent performance flaws in the architecture) late in the game. Anyway, our group went out to lunch at this Chinese place, and the fortune I got in my fortune cookie was something to the effect of, "Make sure you finish up old projects today." I forget the actual wording, but I remember it being specific enough as to say "finish," "project," and "today."
