It was the dawn of the New Year.

Seriously, it was 06:30AM of Jan, 1st 2000.
I got at work straight from a party with friends as I was in the Y2K task force for NCR.

Obviously nothing bad happened, because all of the corporate equipment and customer sites were upgraded and/or tested against the Y2K bug and we spent about 16hrs. playing cards in the meeting room, playing soccer in the hall, looking at porn/sex/... sites on the Internet (of course, the network administrator turned off all the firewalls, filters and logs) and all that sort of things that businessmen and team managers always do at work.
At some time, the fellow network administrator and I started a contest about the weirdest thing found on the Internet. Soon we tripped into a site showing the worst way of getting rid of stranded whales; this site linked to the "Church of the Spinning Hamster", that turned out to be the personal page of an attractive young woman with a particular ability to build home-made bombs; the bomb page linked to some other nonsensical stuff and led us to the main page of Rinkworks.

We stopped here, not because it was the weirdest thing we found, but because we started reading the Computer Stupidities.
