With warp speed, you'd be able to travel far, but you'd still have to be an astronaut (or space cadet or whatever they would be called) to go, and you wouldn't be sure where, when or let alone *if* you'd find anything.

I, for one, chose holodeck because I'm a fantasy-oriented person. With a holodeck, *anyone* could explore your fantasies in real 4D. (But it would probably be really expensive to use...)
