Uh, actually, it is "and". "Australia Day" is celebrated on the 26th January every year, being 6 days (and however many years) after Either Captain Cook discovered Botany Bay/ Port Jackson, or Captain Phillip settled the first convicts there. Either way, it's basically the celebration of the invasion of Australia by the English...

I don't know why it is that I know it is 6 days late, but not know what the event that it is celebrating is.
