No, you're not. For a second, I thought Elrond was played by some completely different actor. Then, when I checked, I found out the same actor actually has a part in the movies, but he doesn't show up until later. (Wormtongue... what a great role!)

Oh, and so you don't have to go to the trouble of checking, I'm talking about Brad Dourif... who was in a bunch of stuff, but I know him best because he plays the villian Saavedro in the game Myst 3: Exile. (And he does a good job too... brrr! Scarier than Gehn, with maybe more psychological damage...)
