I had been awake for a few minutes, and I heard my bread machine beeping to let me know that the bread was ready, so I got up to go get the bread out, and was struck with lightheadedness and immediately collapsed. I was lucky--my head hit the corner of my door on my way down, but the door was open, so it just swung shut when I hit it. I also landed in a pile of dirty laundry, so I didn't hit the floor very hard. The fall sounded pretty loud to me, but my brother, who was in the bathroom at the time, didn't say anything when he came out, and the cat that was in the room didn't seem too startled, so maybe it just seemed loud to me.

This sort of thing happens often to me in a lesser scale; I've never blacked out from it. It happens either when I get up too fast, or when I rise too fast from a bending poistion, like when I'm pulling weeds. Usually I get dizzy for a moment, and things *do* get a little dark, but then I'm over it. I work out (aerobic and weight training)regularly, so I know it's not because I'm out of shape. Deep breathing always helps me.

I'm still not sure which is worse: Blacking out or landing in dirty laundry.
