When my friend and i walked out of the 12:01 preview at 3 am last Wednesday, some guy was telling his friends in the hall that too many people don't know it's a trilogy. My friend and i first thought he was stupid, but by the time we saw it again Sunday night, we both agreed.

I can't imagine the disappointment of waiting through that 3 hours only for Fellowship's ending. Talk about anti-climactic. (That first book's ending and more main characters not dying in the trilogy are the only things i didn't like when i read Tolkien's story. Well, that and my not getting to meet the elves in real life.)

But after the second time watching the film, my friend overheard some guy telling his buddies that Fellowship looked like a blatant and complete rip-off of D&D. We weren't sure whether to pity his innocence or run over him with our car, so we took the middle ground and just hated him for being dumb.
