GOA - i gotta stop reading other posts

OK, i don't think i have to get the thing in the
castle yet. I do, however, think i need to get the
hammer first, which i can't do. is this true?And
if it is, I left the crate somewhere and can't get
it back, what do i use or how do i get the crate?
Please, I need a little help, because right now
i'm COMPLETELY STUCK!!!!!!!
