One type of switch you want to experiment with, and the other you want to use sparingly. The switch you want to use changes which doors are open at which time. So although it's a bit tedious, you'll have to go exploring a bit after flipping the switch the first time, to see where else you can get to. Then, hopefully after the second switch you'll see the pattern (it's symmetric, in a way).
