Halloween and all that jazz

Well, it's Halloween again. The nights are drawing in, it's getting colder, everyone is still completely confused about the clocks going back, and we've already had at least two sets of trick-or-treaters arriving at our door. We always turn them away, saying "Sorry, we don't do trick-or-treating," but boy am I glad we live in a pretty quiet area. If we were in, I don't know, inner-city Manchester or something (yeah, yeah, middle-class snob alert), turning someone away from the door like that could easily result in fireworks through the letter-box, smashed windows, silly-string all over the door, or other such things. Admittedly, that doesn't happen too often, even in other areas, but you never know...
