This reminds me of the Northern passion for naming all sixties shopping centres "The Arndale Centre". Anyone know why there are so many places up north called the Arndale Centre?

PS: "John Arndale was the patron saint of retail/shopping centres/commercialism etc." is not an acceptable answer.
