Hindsight is twenty-twenty. Should we have sided with Stalin in World War 2, when he had killed more people than Hitler? Should we have tried to befriend China over the Soviet Union? Should we have supplied the Afganistan rebels against the Soviet army? And should we support the Northern Alliance, another group that we aren't sure will turn into another Taliban.

Is the enemy of our enemy our friend? Perhaps not in the long run. But in the short run, we often have no choice but to choose less than perfect allies. Even now, we may be forming alliances we may regret later... but we have to do the best we can now.

Checked out the sites... well, that's free speech for you. Another reason why I love this country.
