I remember coming across this strange use of gender-inclusive wording a few days after the terrorist attacks:

Someone on the News: "We can't tolerate men and women who are Islamic terrorists."

I'm not sure why this struck me as oddly as it did. Maybe it's because I always thought any Islamic terrorist worth his salt would rather give up on the cause altogether than have a *woman* help out on it. But, hey, I guess even depraved fanatical terrorist organizations can't escape Equal Opportunity Employment...
