I tried to read it once, on Sam's recommendation. I couldn't get into it, for whatever reason. I still have it, and will probably try again someday. But I have no doubt that the books get better as they go along, because there is no possible way they *couldn't*. I'm constantly amazed that TSoS was Brooks first-ever book. That it was even of publishable quality says a lot about his abilities.
