The article I link to below is proof that firefighters do go above and beyond the call of duty. Although these firefighters live 3,000 miles away from New York, they couldn't stand by and do nothing. Instead, they took to the streets of California's capitol and, within two days, had raised over $500,000 for the families of the firefighters killed in New York.
