I'm glad I'm not the only one who actually *likes* strict airport security. I don't understand why anyone would be angry with having to take some extra time to get on a plane if it meant being much more sure that you're not going to be killed. Several times in airports I've had my carry-on bag either searched or tested for something with a cotton swab (I ask them what they're looking for, but I've never had anyone actually answer me--I'm assuming drugs or explosives) and I always *thank* the person when they're done, because it makes me feel *better* that they're actually taking precautions and doing more than just making a half-hearted attempt at security.

Security at American airports is going to have to change drastically. But this is a GOOD thing. I don't *like* the fact that all it takes to commandeer a plane in the US is a few box-cutters.

I think we should look seriously at federalizing airport security. Replace the bored, minimum wage worker with a trained and armed federal Marshalls. We have to AT LEAST come up to the standards of Europe on this. It'd be suicide not to.
