Myself, I can't sleep in any kind of noise. Well, that not all true, because I sleep with my window slightly open, so I hear traffic outside. But white (or more like gray, or pastel, really) noise like that is another matter. Especially if I have some time getting used to it.

A friend of mine, though, falls much easier to sleep and sleeps much better with noise. Either people talking nearby (which I can't *possibly* fall to sleep hearing), or music (preferably something like Marilyn Manson) on the stereo.
