I think it's natural enough for your dreams to
incorporate stuff going on around you. For me
the most extreme example was once when I set my
alarm clock early because I was leaving on a trip.

But I woke up an hour late. This was because my
alarm clock wasn't turned on. I thought I'd
turned it on... and then I remembered.

I had this dream, where I was a salesman, demoing
a product to a customer. This anonymous product
made a lot of noise. The customer said, "That's
great. How do you turn it off?"

I replied, "Like this." *click*
