Postcards are like that. It doesn't matter when you send them, you *always* get home before they do. In a cunning attempt to escape this law of nature, I sent my postcards on the 2nd day of my holiday, 10 days before I went home. They only had to travel a thousand miles or so, and both countries involved have good postal systems. Have they arrived yet?

No, of course not.

Next time, I'm going to put them in envelopes to try and fool the sorting office into treating them like letters. That might work.
