Sundragyn, the Seagull.

If you're looking for a long, detailed post about my new position as University of Victoria Student, then you'll have to wait a day or two. I'm in Victoria now, but someone is apparently living in the dorm room reserved for me so I haven't even as much as seen the inside of the building. I move in tomorrow. But this is a thought that has changed the way I live, probably forever.

My parents and I drove from Prince George to Vancouver in a day. When we arrived for a short visit with my grandparents in Vancouver, my Grandpa took me out onto the balcony of his and my Nana's apartment, which overlooks Lost Lagoon and Stanley Park. "Over the past three months, I've been watching something which is exactly what you're going through now," he says to me, and he points out this building a block or so over. This is the home of "Jonathan" and "Cecilia," as my Grandpa calls them, two seagulls who have nested on top of this building for the past few years. My Grandpa then pointed out to me, on another building, two seagulls, gray with youth, and on a third building, one of the parents. That very day had been the chicks' first flight, same as me.

I shall now and forever identify myself with seagulls.

Sun"real news to come, really!"dragyn.
