Yes, of course, but what's strange to me is the idea of being in a country where the land around you extends so FAR in every direction. It's hard to describe. Even though I've travelled overseas many times, I guess I have this ingrained feeling that the natural order of things is for countries to be long and narrow and surrounded by water.
