I have no idea what part of Canada the attendant was originally from, but he had an accent that I'd never encountered before. We asked him whether that was US or Canadian dollars, and he said it didn't matter. "You can pay with Yankee money," he said. "By the end 'o the day I've got about half and half anyway."

Heh. Well, the attendant could have been from nearly anywhere, right? He might have been from the Gaspésie or the Iles-de-la-Madeleine (whose languages are admittedly incomprehensible). But he could as well have come from, say, Burundi, Kuwait, French Guyana, Serbo-Croatia, or Vietnam :-). Walk down core sections in certain major Canadian cities, and I'm willing to bet that nearly 50% of the people you meet were actually born in another country.

YEAH! Tell me about it. I'm *still* waiting for the much-hyped sneak review of how "manly chest-butting with Issachar R0XX0R3D"!!!

Agreed. Niagara Falls is one of those rare "touristy things" which never fails to look good -- even at midnight in a downpour, or in the middle of a blizzard. On blistering hot days, the light and invisible mist from the thundering water manages to cool the entire area down pleasantly, too. And who wouldn't be cheered up by the sight, knowing that the permanent rainbow at Niagara will last as long as the waters ever fall? :-)
