This morning Sosi popped in to RinkChat to say that she was soon to be leaving for a narrowboat on the Norfolk Broads. I did a little researce and found out that trains in that direction left from Euston Station. I manage to tease the rough time they would be leaving, and joy-of-joys, it neatly coincided with a reasonable lunch break, so we agree to meet at the station.

Knowing that they were getting there by taxi actually made it a little tricky, as the drop-off point is in a carpark underneath the station. I hang around at the entrance and watch the taxis o in. I spot Sosiqui quite soon, and go into the station to meet her.

She waved to me from the taxi without having ever seen a picture of me, which was mostly because I happen to be wearing a very distinctive tie today.

Anyway, I meet her and her family inside the station, a photo gets taken (in front of the plaque saying when Her Majesty opened the station - there wasn't much choice of backdrop), and chatted about what she'd seen in London, and about how I was less scary than Ellmyruh (not that that can be too difficult), and general small talk.

She seemed happy to have met two Rinkies in as many days (and when one of them's me, who can blame her?), but also a little upset that she can't be at the RinkOnion as well. I know how she feels. Ah well, there's always next year.

Eventually, of course, they had to leave. So I wished them a happy trip, and we parted company. A great way to spend my lunch hour, all in.

winter"So, I've met a Rinkie who lives 5000 miles away, but not one who works within a mile of me. What gives?"mute
