It was said on one of the deep space nine shows that ferengi civilization took twice as long to reach that of the human civilization that is current. 10,000 years opposed to 5,000... anyways my opinion is that the ferengi are knowledgeable about that, yet they do know that they have had the advantage in developing trade since they've had longer time to do so. Ferengi's also base much of their race on profit or business rather than conquering others, like the klingons. Like that of the volcans, they had some untolerable strength but much discipline that followed. The Klingons had no discipline, but that of honor. Humans on the other hand have had the editors hand in their success. Though they haven't always gone out without their setbacks. Yet they do have the upperhand in decisions being made in that particular region of the universe- as if their peacekeepers. danny;)
