Hail Thee,

> Yesterday I ran the Nike RUN London 10K, which took place in Kew Gardens (which is a very nice place, BTW

Ahhh yes, Kew Gardens, one of the few places my wife and me missed when we visited London last week. It was highly praised in our travel guide, but regrettably was waaay outside of our 2 zone London public transport passes. I believe Kew Gardens was in zone 4 on our tube station zone map.

Now by itself that would not have been a reason for not going there, but as this was our first trip to London, and only for 4 days, there was sooo much else to see within the central part of the city that Kew Gardens regrettably lost.

I've been told by a friend that the greenhouses in Kew Gardens would be especially beautiful. I gather that your run didn't take you through those by any chance ?

Yeppers, I always interested in large amounts of lush greenery ! We did manage to stroll through most of the major parks in central London (often on our way from one sight to the next :)

We liked London so much that we definitely plan to return next year, and then Kew Gardens is high up on our list of places to visit !

(Sidenote: maybe Madam Toussouds as well, but I'm not sure on this as yet. We went there at 10:30 in the morning only to encounter a GIGANTIC queue. We spontaneously decided that an exhibition of artfully modelled wax was not worth waiting 2 hours in a mixture of sunshine and rain)
