There's always a better way to do something. I was faced with weeding the garden after the prolonged wet spell we had. The weeds were growing so fast, they were tall enough to strangle the tiller. So I got out the string trimmer and cleaned out between the rows. Then I just ran through with the tiller and it looked great. We spent a while hoeing between the plants and picking out some stray weeds that managed to survive. Then we tried a new mulch method. That's the one where you spread several layers of wet newspaper on the ground around the plants. Then we like to throw a little mulch on that so the wind won't blow them away when they dry. It keeps the moisture in and the weeds out. It takes less mulch, too. With a minimum of luck we are going to be covered up with fresh vegetables in about two weeks. We've already had some good salad stuff, but the beans and 'taters and corn are almost ready. I can't wait for those little green tomatoes to get big and red. Usually, in late June or early July, we start having meals where everything came out of the garden. Now that's what it doesn't get any better than.
