This is another argument against capital punishment. If you lock someone up for life at 30, assuming they don't escape or commit suicide, than they have at least 30 years to sit around and suffer. 30 years to sit around and wrestle with yourself. He's got off lightly (for the purposes of my argument, there's no Hell), because now he can lie down and rest. If he'd been jailed for life, he'd have had 30 years or so to sit around and think about it. It's a lot longer than you might think, espescially when you're spending most of it on your duff doing very little or very boring. (excuse the grammar)
