I'm probably in the minority here, but I really dislike reading cursive writing, and I dislike using it even more -- at least the "traditional" cursive as it was taught in school. Sometimes I even screw up my own signature. I think that really what I use is a hybrid print-cursive style (the characters are upright, as printed characters, but sometimes flow together as in cursive). It gets me about 40-50 wpm, which is fast enough for practical purposes, but of course I slow down when someone will actually need to read what I wrote.
