I rarely write on paper anymore, but when I do, I use cursive almost exclusively. (Except for grocery lists and things.) The cursive I was taught is different from the 'normal' cursive most schools teach-- I believe mine's called italic cursive, but I could be wrong. To my mind, it looks nicer than the 'normal' cursive (does that one have a name?). The letters look more like letters that are printed, but it still flows out very nicely, and I love how that feels.

As for it being necessary, I agree that its use has probably been much lessened since computers have become so popular. It will probably become even less needed as computers take over the world, but I for one will still use it when I can.
