As far as the Time magazine article is concerned, we always get a laugh when someone from the north takes a quick trip through the South and suddenly knows all about it. Believe me, it takes decades to know any region.
As for the steak, I never heard it called anything but country fried steak until restaurants started using "chicken fried" thinking it sounded good on the menu. Country fried steak is a long-time standard southern dish. But I refuse to eat anything with "chicken" attached to the name. Call it by it's correct name and it's one of my favorites.
And I've never seen wings on a buffalo, either. How"my 2 cents worth"ard
