Can't and won't are different things. That particular post was a generic spam post, and at that time I did not have my post deleting script. Because deleting posts nested in subthreads was at that time very difficult, it was far more easy for me to edit it than remove it.
As a side note, I'm not sure why I gave that answer to that question. Something "objectionable" is not going to stay on this forum unless I miss it somehow. What I do to remove something objectionable may vary from case to case.
